What Topics Should I Write About? We are looking for writers who are familiar with a variety of different topics. Please take a look at our Learning Center for a better idea of what we are looking for. Common topics we write about: Tiny House/RV Living Cleaning Tips Home Appliances A/C and Heating Information Various Homeowner Tips Editor’s Note: Even if you write an article about one of the above topics, unfortunately we cannot guarantee that your article will be published. But everything submitted will be reviewed by our team and we will let you know if it is something we deem a fit for our audience. Content Submission Guidelines: If you are interested in submitting an article or two (or more!) to our Learning Center, please take a look at some of our minimum submission guidelines outlined below. How Long Should My Article Be? We do not have a minimum or maximum word count requirement, but you’re more likely to have your work published if it is in-depth and well-researched. Our goal is to educate the world about the above listed topics. As such, we require that all articles be in-depth and teach the average reader something that they may not have known beforehand. We’ve found that articles with at least 1,000 words can easily accomplish this goal. However, we would encourage you to fully explore the topic and continue writing until you, the author, feel that you have provided readers with as much information on the topic as possible. Will You Edit My Article? Maybe. All articles will be read over and analyzed by our team. If it is free of grammar mistakes, is well-researched and accurate, then we probably won’t change anything. However, it is always possible that your article will be edited for clarity, accuracy, and of course, grammar mistakes. We reserve the right to improve the article, if we feel that it would benefit our readers as a result. Can I Submit My Work Elsewhere? We will not accept or publish anything that has been previously published in print or online. All articles will be checked for plagiarism, so please don’t try to steal anybody’s work and pass it off as your own. We would kindly ask you not to submit or publish your work elsewhere. If we discover the piece has been published elsewhere, we reserve the right to remove your work from our site at our discretion and without notice. Should I Include Images In My Article? You are welcome to include your own images or graphics along with your article, if you have them. However, this is not a requirement. Do not include images that you do not have permission to republish. If you can’t find any images that are applicable to your article, we will add them ourselves. If you submit a piece with images, we reserve the right to change them to different images. What Size Images Are You Looking For? Each one of our articles has a featured image at the top of the page. This image follows a 2:1 ratio (850px by 425px), so please ensure that your image meets those requirements. Images should be of excellent quality. Again, if you do not have any images to submit, we will add them for you, so don’t let this discourage you from submitting your work. Should I Include Links In My Article? Yes. If you feel like the reader would benefit from or can further their education on a topic through other articles, then we would encourage you to include links to said articles. Affiliate links will always be removed. Furthermore, any links within the article that does not directly benefit the reader will be removed. If you are submitting a word document to us, please list the links at the bottom of the document. We reserve the right to remove links from any article prior to publication. Can I Link To My Website In My Article? Yes. If you have a site that is relevant to the topic you are writing about, we would encourage you to link to it within the article. With that said, if your link is not related to the article, we will likely remove it. If you link excessively to your website, we will likely remove any and all links that we don’t feel directly benefits the reader. We retain the right to remove any links from any article prior to publication and at our complete discretion. Will I Receive Credit For My Work? Absolutely! We ask that along with your first submission you send us a quick (~100 word) bio and a picture of yourself. We will set up an author page for you and all of your submissions will be linked to that account. If you have a link you would like to include to your personal site, your bio is the best place to include this. If you do not wish to receive credit for your work, that’s OK too. You can remain anonymous, and nobody will ever have to know that you wrote the article. Where Do I Submit My Work? You can submit your article ideas using the contact form at the top of this page. Our team reviews all incoming article ideas and if we think they are a great fit for our site, then we will respond to the email address you provide to discuss how to proceed.
